For events that may draw media attention, you should contact the Office of Marketing and Communications media plan is as follows:
Usually a narrative press release and/or calendar item are the first things to be drafted, posted to the homepage, and sent out to our media contacts. These are done as early as all details are finalized, hopefully 6-8 weeks before the event. At minimum, the following information is required: the title of the event, where and when it will take place, who is sponsoring it, who the contact is (we MUST have a phone number for newspaper listings) and a description.
